Old Home are a real local oddity. Poetry read over dramatic emo punk. Those words together make this sound terrible. It isn't terrible. It's fantastic. It's like some perverted modern version of bush poetry filtered through 90's emo, pop punk and Godspeed! You Black Emperor. Real milk crate Australiana. But it strips out all the good time vibes, leaving an aching melancholy. A realisation that no matter how hard you work, you will never be able to buy a house unless your parents die. But you'll still find beauty and solace in the smoking area of rural pubs or watching the sunrise from the roof of a rundown sharehouse after a night of drugs and beer and mischief.
